America Enters The War
The Government actions taken during World War II were morally appropriate and effective.
The Attack
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 under the command of Chuichi Nagumo. The Japanese anchored two hundred miles north of Pearl Harbor. They launched a total number of three hundred sixty planes in three different heats. In conclusion there was three thousand five hundred people injured and dead including soldiers, sailors, marines and random citizens. This angered the whole country and was one of the main causes the U.S. went to war. Some people actually believe the Roosevelt knew what was about to happen but let it go knowing that it was going to cause the citizens of the U.S. to be pro war, but there is no true evidence that Roosevelt knew about the attack.

-The United States Political, Social and Geography advantages helped the U.S. government make choices which led the U.S. to a victory.
Social
"I have said this before, but I shall say it again and again and again; your boys are not gong to be sent to any foreign wars." -Roosevelt
In Roosevelt said and promised to keep America out of the War.
This statement by Roosevelt is part of the reason he got selected for his third term. Though he did not follow this plan if he wouldn't have been elected our country may have not had the leader to win a world war.

Geography
Before the U.S. became allies with the British Roosevelt created The Hemispheric Defense Zone. It was the entire Western Atlantic and it was considered neutral. He created it because the Germans kept attacking British cargo ships so once it was created the U.S. could defend the British from the Germans and still not be considered allies.
The plan to not become allies quickly with the British was an appropriate action taken by the U.S. Government. Not becoming allies but making a neutral zone allowed for the Navy to attack German Submarines with the help of the British.

Economic
Japanese were invading smaller country's and islands around the world and many times Roosevelt told them to remove troops from occupied areas. So in the summer of 1941 Roosevelt cut all trade with Japan including oil which was a vital use in the Japanese war effort.
This was an economic sacrifice by the U.S. government loosing a lot of money from not selling goods to the Japanese. This was a government action that at first the citizens were not so sure about but as time went on realized what Roosevelt was doing.

-U.S. as a World Power, Progressive Era, World War I, Roaring 20's, Great Depression and New Deal were all filled with decisions that the U.S. government had to make, through all these past experiences the government gained confidence in what they needed to do in World War II.
Significance
With all that happened before and when America entered WWII the United states government learned and experienced a lot from smart tactics like the Hemispheric Defense Zone to defending our country from future attacks like pearl harbor. Though we look at past wars and dread we should realize they are what got our country's to where we are today. With past experiences we are able to know what to do once a similar experience comes up. This may be the reason why Roosevelt was elected for four different terms.
“being able to act intelligently and instinctively in the moment is possible only after a long and rigorous of education and experience” ― Malcolm Gladwell
